Shobna Gultati planned her Corrie funeral
Shobna Gultati helped 'Coronation Street' bosses plan her character, Sunita's, funeral after her tragic death following Karls evil visit to hospital.
Shobna Gultati helped plan her 'Coronation Street' funeral.
The 46-year-old actress - who played Sunita Alahan in the ITV soap - aired her final scenes on the cobbles last week and she admits she had a hand in arranging her alter ego's send off because of her knowledge of traditional Hindu funerals.
Speaking on 'This Morning', Shobna said: "I know it sounds bizarre, but it's just that I knew where to get the stuff from! You know, the outfits that Dev and the children are wearing, and the ritual things that you need for a funeral like that."
Although she's landed a job on 'Loose Women' since leaving the soap, Shobna will continue her acting career and is hoping to try her luck at comedy.
She added: "I'm an actor, aren't I? I've played many parts on the stage and I've played a couple on the TV. I just want to see what else is out there for me. A bit more comedy would be lovely.
"I think it's time to make some new characters. I would like not to be Sunita anymore.
Sunita's funeral will be aired on Friday (12.04.13) where guilt-ridden Karl will confess to killing her.
