Sheridan Smith says Alan Davies is like a brother to her.
The 31-year-old actress reunited with the actor for a recent one-off special episode of crime drama 'Jonathan Creek' - in which he reprised his role as the titular detective - and she loved starring alongside him again because the pair are "great friends" off-screen and enjoy lots of banter.
Sheridan - who plays Creek's sidekick Joey Ross - said: "He's like my big brother. We love winding each other up and are great friends away from work, too. He brought his family to my house for my birthday party and we keep in touch by phone and email."
The feisty blonde is known for her role as Smithy's (James Corden) tracksuit-wearing sister in sitcom 'Gavin & Stacey' and she confessed she would love to make more episodes of the popular show.
Sheridan explained: "There are rumours but nothing definite. I'd love to do more - we all would. They're such lovely people. That series has so much heart."
The actress has been chosen to host the prestigious Olivier awards - which recognise excellence in professional theatre - later this month, and she is delighted 'Downton Abbey' actor Hugh Bonneville will be joining her on stage.
Sheridan added to HELLO! magazine: "I feel so honoured to be asked to host. I'm hosting with Hugh Bonneville, who's incredibly calm, so hopefully he'll help me out if I fluff my lines or fall over."
