Letitia Dean: EastEnders' Sharon and Phil are doomed
Letitia Dean thinks her 'EastEnders' alter-ego Sharon Rickman's relationship with Albert Square bad boy Phil Mitchell is doomed as she may not have true feelings for him.
Letitia Dean thinks her 'EastEnders' alter-ego Sharon Rickman's relationship with Phil Mitchell is doomed.
Outspoken blonde Sharon and the Albert Square bad boy - who is played by Steve McFadden - are to rekindle their romance after Sharon's fiancé Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) jilts her at the altar and although things seem to be looking up for the reunited couple, Letitia thinks their relationship may not be genuine enough to see it through.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I love working with Steve but I don't know if Phil and Sharon should be together. They have a lot of history, but I'm not sure she loves him. She doesn't want anyone else to have him."
The couple have grown close over the recent months after faking a relationship in order for Phil to gain custody of his granddaughter Lexi - whose father is Phil's son Ben (Joshua Pascoe) - and it is thought there will be explosive drama between them as the year continues.
A source recently said: "Phil and Sharon are two of EastEnders' biggest characters and they've always had feelings for each other. But their getting together again will still come as a shock.
"It promises to be a massive storyline for the rest of the year."
In 1994, Phil had an affair with Sharon while she was married to his brother Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp).
