Katherine Kelly and Tamsin Greig have joined the cast of a new drama.

The 'Mr Selfridge' beauty and the 'Friday Night Dinner' actress will star alongside Darren Boyd in 'The Guilty', which will see the characters' lives turned upside down when young boy, Callum Reid, goes missing.

The gritty three-part drama is set in 2008 and the present day and will explore what happened when Callum - whose parents are playing by Katherine and Darren - disappears, as well as tell the story of a new investigation to track down the little one five years on.

Tamsin will play DCI Maggie Brand, who is in charge of the new inquiry, but in her desperate bid to track down Callum she risks the lives of her son Sam - who is just starting school, which leads to her discovering he is different from the other kids - and her husband Jeb (Jamie Sives).

The lives of the local residents are left in tatters when Callum goes missing after an annual neighbourhood barbeque in 2008, which sees the locals enjoying each other's company before becoming embroiled in a violent, alcohol-fuelled incident which changes the mood of the evening.

In the hours following the barbeque, Callum - who was happily playing during the evening - goes missing and all hell breaks loose.

Filming has already started and will continue throughout April and May.
