Brian Dowling furious over Big Brother axe
Brian Dowling is said to be "fuming" after being axed as host of 'Big Brother' in favour of Emma Willis.
Brian Dowling is said to be "fuming" after being axed as host of 'Big Brother'.
The former show winner is being replaced as presenter of the Channel 5 reality TV show by spin-off 'Big Brother's Bit On The Side' host Emma Willis, and though he will be paid a reported £100,000 for the rest of his contract, he is not happy with the decision.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "It goes without saying that Brian is fuming at what's happened. This was his job and one they had contracted him to do.
"There is a new Channel 5 boss and obviously he had different ideas - but it has cost him as Brian will have to be paid."
It had been previously claimed Brian would be offered Emma's old position, but that is now expected to go to an "unknown new face".
Former 'Celebrity Big Brother' contestant Rylan Clark is rumoured to be in line to land the role.
The speculation comes after online ticket retailer Applause Store tweeted they had free 'Big Brother' tickets on off for this year's series featuring Emma and Rylan.
In a tweet, which has now been deleted, the company wrote: "B the 1st for #freetix to #BB13 @bbuk with @Emma_Willis + @RylanClark (sic)"
A Channel 5 spokesperson has declined to comment.
Meanwhile, Emma has thanked fans for their messages of support after landing her "dream job".
She tweeted: "Thank you to all those that have sent messages of support and congratulation. It genuinely is a dream job for me. Roll on summer!"
