Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway for 2014 return
ITV have ordered another portion of 'Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway' for 2014 following this year's successful return of the show
'Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway' will return in 2014.
ITV have confirmed the Geordie duo's ITV entertainment show has been recomissioned after an impressive run so far this year has made it the programme's most watched series since 2005, which has left the presenting pair "overwhelmed".
Dec explained: "We've absolutely loved every minute of the shows this year and can't wait to get working on another series for next year."
Ant added: "We've been overwhelmed by the positive reaction to this series, especially after four years off air."
The current series of the live show has featured appearances from several celebrities including Alan Carr, David Walliams, Ashley Roberts, Sharon Osborne and Sir Terry Wogan, while the duo's younger alter-ego's Little Ant and Dec have interviewed Simon Cowell and Mila Kunis.
Peter Fincham, ITV's Director of Television, said: "Ant and Dec are entertainers at the very top of their game and we couldn't be more proud to have them on ITV. The team have delivered a triumphant series and we look forward to bringing our audience more of their inimitable brand of fast paced, family entertainment next year."
'Saturday Night Takeaway' has been the talk of the TV world this week after Ant and Dec's performance of their 1994 track 'Let's Get Ready to Rhumble' at the end of last Saturday's (23.03.13) show proved so popular with viewers it looks set to top the UK number one singles chart this weekend.
The pair have been left stunned by the success of the song - which they recorded under their 'Byker Grove' character names PJ and Duncan - and have promised to donate the royalties from their chart-topping hit to charity.
