Matthew Vaughn is reuniting with 'Kick-Ass' comic book writer Mark Millar and screenwriter Jane Goldman for another comic book movie, 'The Secret Service'
Matthew Vaughn is set to direct 'The Secret Service'.
The 'X-Men: First Class' director has struck a deal with 20th Century Fox to distribute his latest project - a big screen adaptation of Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons' comic book series of the same name - and the movie is expected to be released in November 2014, reports Deadline.
The film reunites Vaughn with Millar and long-time writing partner Jane Goldman, who all worked together on 2010's 'Kick-Ass', based on Millar's popular comic book series. The director has already written the script with Goldman, and the film will be produced and financed by his own company, Marv Films.
The action-adventure flick is about a veteran secret agent who takes a young protégé under his wing and guides him through the ins and outs of the deadly job.
The project marks Vaughn's first time back behind the camera following 2011's critically acclaimed 'X-Men: First Class'. The director handed the reins on the forthcoming sequel, 'X-Men: Days of Future Past', back to original director Bryan Singer, who helmed 2000's 'X-Men' and 2003's 'X2'.
Similarly, Vaughn also opted not to direct 'Kick-Ass 2', which will hit screens later this year. The filmmaker instead serves as a producer on the superhero caper, while screenwriter Jeff Wadlow takes over the director's chair.
Production on 'The Secret Service' is due to begin in August.
