Gemma Bissix can't wait to work with Gillian Taylforth
Gemma Bissix "can't wait" for Gillian Taylforth to join 'Hollyoaks' and thinks her former 'EastEnders' co-star will bring "grit and glamour" to the show.
Gemma Bissix says Gillian Taylforth will bring "a dose of grit and glamour" to 'Hollyoaks'.
The 29-year-old actress - who has returned to the Channel 4 soap to reprise her role of superbitch Clare Devine - "can't wait" for her former 'EastEnders' co-star to appear alongside her in the programme and believes she will improve the show.
She said: "I can't wait! She's lovely and a fantastically talented actress. I think she's going to bring a dose of grit and glamour to 'Hollyoaks'."
While Gillian is set to bring some glitz to Hollyoaks village, Gemma says her own alter-ego continues where she left off in May 2009 and makes life difficult for her fellow residents.
She explained: "It's been lovely. I've been filming with Nick Pickard [Tony Hutchinson] and Jimmy McKenna [Jack Osborne], who are two of my best friends.
"Clare is ready to cause trouble. She's not in 'Hollyoaks' for a holiday, put it that way."
And Gemma was pleased she didn't have to make a special effort to get in shape to reprise her role after starring in pantomime over Christmas left her with hardly any time to eat properly.
She told new! magazine: "I'd been going to the gym anyway so I didn't really need to. Plus, I did panto at Christmas so I was doing two or three shows a day and didn't have time to eat!"
