Carol Vorderman breaks nose
Carol Vorderman has been forced to take time off 'Loose Women' and other TV work after breaking her nose in a horrific accident when she fell down a flight of stairs.
Carol Vorderman has cancelled her TV appearances after breaking her nose.
The 'Loose Women' presenter was rushed to hospital last week after falling down a flight of stairs and landing face-first into a wall, and the 52-year-old TV star has been forced to take time off the ITV daytime show as a result.
The accident occurred in central London last Thursday (21.03.13) when Carol - who was wearing four-inch heels - left a meeting in central London and had her hands in her pockets as she walked down the steps, resulting in multiple facial injuries including a broken nose.
She told The Daily Mirror newspaper: "I feel OK but because I had my hands in my coat pockets while I was running, I had nothing to break my fall except my head. I look like I've done eight rounds with Muhammad Ali.
"The bruising round my eye has reached its peak. I also have stitches in my forehead and left eyelid. But I am just counting my blessings that I didn't damage my skull or the eye itself."
The 'Food Glorious Food' presenter was taken to hospital by her boyfriend, former Red Arrows pilot Graham Duff, and has been ordered to rest following the accident.
She added: "I feel like a complete idiot and have had to cancel work for a few weeks, so no 'Loose Women' for a while. I'll have a plaster cast on my nose for a week."
