Sheridan Smith got "star-struck" while filming 'Jonathan Creek' with Joanna Lumley.

The 'Mrs. Biggs' star will reprise her role as the titular detective's sidekick Joey Ross in the Easter Monday (01.04.13) special episode of the BBC One drama series - which will feature cameos from Joanna and Rik Mayall - and the blonde beauty was speechless when the 'Absolutely Fabulous' actress spoke to her on set.

She said: "We've never worked together before and I love her. She sat down next to me in make-up and said, 'Hello, darling', in her lovely voice and I couldn't speak. Then I had to do a scene with her. And with Rik. I grew up with these people, I get so star-struck."

Sheridan will make her third appearance in the one-off special, which is titled 'The Clue of the Savant's Thumb', and she still remembers getting the call from writer David Renwick to tell her she had won the part of Joey in 2009 New Year's Day special 'The Grinning Man'.

She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It was such an honour when David asked me to be the sidekick - I remember screaming and going mad."
