AC/DC guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young are writing tracks for their next album, bass player Cliff Williams has confirmed
AC/DC guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young are writing tracks for their next album.
The 'Rock 'n' Roll Train' band's bassist, Cliff Williams, said things are still in the early stages but the group's main songwriters are working on the follow up to 2008's 'Black Ice'.
He told BackstageAxxess.com: "The guys are writing material and when they've got some stuff together, they'll give us a holler.
"We're still getting over the last tour, so we're just hanging out and doing stuff."
He added the brothers usually start the writing process and bring their ideas to the rest of the band - which also includes drummer Phil Rudd and Singer Brian Johnson - to then shape into a record.
He added: "Angus and Malcolm get a bunch of ideas together - some are more together than others - then we'll all hit the studio or a little rehearsal room and we'll kick it around with a producer.
"And then we get in a studio and record, and that's kind of how it runs. The guys, I'm sure, are putting their time in [writing material for the new album] but they're not ready for [the rest of the band to get involved] yet."
Malcolm said last year he didn't expect the 'Hell's Bells' group to be hitting the studio anytime soon.
He said: "I think we need a couple of years to recuperate and work on it a bit more."
