Coronation Street's Kirsty Soames hits Julie Carp
Coronation Street's Kirsty Soames will show her aggressive side towards fellow factory-worker Julie Carp next week by losing her temper and hitting her.
Coronation Street's Kirsty Soames will hit Julie Carp.
The abusive former policewoman - who has falsely accused her fiancé Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) of domestic violence - will lose her cool with the factory worker (Katy Cavanagh) next week in scenes which will show the mother-of-one's "mask" fall off to expose her true nature.
Natalie Gumede, who plays Kirsty, revealed: "For me, these scenes are more important than the court case. This is the climax, almost more than seeing Tyrone in court.
"Kirsty loses her temper and she throws a cup across the room in front of Sally and Julie, and that's when her mask falls. Both of them pretend everything's okay, but there's this awful moment where Julie realises what Kirsty is really like. Kirsty realises it's over.
"Julie has seen her for what she is, and in a moment of temper, she hits Julie. She's flipped and is no longer just taking her anger out on someone very close to her. This is the last piece of the jigsaw, everything's come shattering down."
After the attack, Kirsty faces a "horrid moment" involving hers and Tyrone's baby daughter Ruby as she continues to lose her temper even more.
Natalie added to itv.com: "Julie runs out and Ruby's screaming. In a manic state, Kirsty is trying to calm Ruby, but she knows enough people know now for her lies to come tumbling down.
"Once again, she loses her temper but this time with the baby. She's screaming and screaming at Ruby and it's just a horrid moment. That's her moment of realisation."
