Brian Dowling faces BB axe
Brian Dowling is reportedly facing the axe from 'Big Brother' as show bosses want Emma Willis to front the show
Brian Dowling is reportedly facing the axe from 'Big Brother'.
The 34-year-old presenter - who won the show in 2001 and has fronted the programme for two years since its move to Channel 5 - is expected to be replaced by Emma Willis, who currently presents spin-off 'Big Brother's Bit On The Side' ('BBBOTS'), as bosses see her as the "true successor" to former host Davina McCall.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Brian has been a great host but Emma is seen by channel chiefs as a true successor to Davina. They're talking to her now about taking over the role from the summer.
"Like Davina when she hosted the show, Emma's young, a mum of two, and very glamorous.
"The audience love her on 'BBBOTS' and execs want to capitalise on that.
"She's thinking it over but it's a great opportunity and she would be mad to turn it down."
If Emma accepts the job, Brian will be compensated by show bosses as he is believed to be contracted for both the main 'Big Brother' show and the following 'Celebrity Big Brother' over the summer.
It is believed that it could be suggested Brian switches roles with Emma to front 'Big Brother's Bit On The Side', but he is unlikely to accept the offer.
