Mick Norcross quits The Only Way is Essex
Mick Norcross has quit 'The Only Way is Essex' and banned producers from filming in his Sugar Hut nightclub
Mick Norcross has quit 'The Only Way is Essex'.
The businessman is furious with 'TOWIE' bosses for using his Sugar Hut nightclub as a battleground for stars of the ITV2 reality show to argue with each other, and he fears the constant squabbling is putting off his regular punters.
He told The Sun newspaper: "My club is an upmarket venue where people come to drink champagne and feel spoiled.
"All these rows they keep filming don't show the club in a good light and I'm worried it's putting people off coming, which is the last thing I want."
Mick claims he had already asked 'TOWIE' bosses not to film arguments in his club before the recent eighth series began, so it was the "final straw" when fellow cast member Sam Faiers slammed Amy Broadbent, who works at his club as a Sugar Hut Honey, in a recent episode.
He added: "Allowing the Sugar Hut Honeys to be called s**gs is the final straw. I would never allow that to happen in my venue.
"I've had enough. I'm out."
But Mick might not be the only star set to quit 'TOWIE' after on/off couple Mario Falcone and Lucy Mecklenburgh infuriated the show's bosses yesterday (07.03.13), by claiming producers have been "lying" to viewers.
Following their outburst on Twitter, the pair are due to meet producers today (08.03.13) to discuss their fate, and there was speculation last night the couple might decide to quit the show.
An insider said: "They'll be axed more like.
"This show is bigger than the pair of them. The meeting will be very interesting."
Mario tweeted yesterday: "The producers are still lying to you all... Coronation street is more reality than TOWIE!
"Me and Little Chris set up our argument in the first episode [of the new series], producers knew but still put it in - all very scripted! (sic)"
One source added: "He is right out of order calling producers liars."
