Primal Scream and Amy MacDonald are the two headline acts at the 2013 Wickerman festival. MacDonald, whose debut album This Is The Life went twice-platinum in the UK, will close the Dumfriesshire festival on Saturday 27th of July.

Making her debut at the festival, an excited MacDonald had this to say about her headline slot. “I'm really looking forward to headlining the Wickerman festival this year as I love being able to play in Scotland and I have heard the Wickerman audience are a great crowd to play for. There is always a great atmosphere, so I am looking forward to a great evening together.”

In addition, Wickerman's organisers revealed a spate of artists also set to feature during the weekend, including The Enemy, KT Tunstall, Dexys (formerly Dexy's Midnight Runners), Bellowhead, King Charles, the hotly-tipped Holy Esque and Roddy Hart and The Lonesome Fire.

Joining Primal Scream on the Summerisle Stage on Friday night will be Scottish singer/songwriter KT Tunstall, and playing just before Macdonald on the Saturday will be Coventry's indie-rock trio The Enemy. Both acts are set to showcase new material from their upcoming fourth albums.

After the success of their recent Screamadelica tour, a revitalized Primal Scream will make their only Scottish festival appearance at this year's Wickerman. The band, fronted by Bobby Gillespie, are set to release long-awaited new album 'More Light' in May, and have promised Wickerman fans a taste of both old and new during their Friday headline set.

The Wickerman festival, which takes place on a working farm near some the locations used for the eponymous 1973 movie, is now entering its twelfth year, and Festival coordinator Helen Chalmers is delighted with those already confirmed on its bill, saying, “Wickerman prides itself on offering festivalgoers a truly diverse line-up, so it is fantastic to announce acts that cross so many different genres of music. With Amy Macdonald, The Enemy and KT Tunstall joining Primal Scream, we are confident that this year’s festival will be the ultimate summer party and we are looking forward to announcing further exciting line-up additions over the coming months."

The Wickerman festival is quite probably the world’s only family-friendly music event inspired by a cult horror film about human sacrifice.
