Mario and Lucy hit out at TOWIE producers
'The Only Way Is Essex' stars Mario Falcone and Lucy Mecklenburgh have accused producers of "lying" to viewers over their alleged split and claim everyone had been setting up scenes
'The Only Way Is Essex' stars Mario Falcone and Lucy Mecklenburgh have accused producers of "lying" to viewers.
In last night's (06.03.13) episode, the couple apparently reunited following claims Mario cheated on Lucy with Sugar Hut Honey Amy Broadbent.
However, Mario insists the allegations were all fabricated by Little Chris and his brother Ben and claims the scenes which saw him argue with the former were scripted by ITV2 bosses.
He tweeted: "The producers are still lying to you all... Coronation street is more reality than TOWIE!
"Me and Little Chris set up our argument in the first episode [of the new series], producers knew but still put it in - all very scripted! (sic)"
Lucy - who has forgiven Mario, despite the cheating rumours - also wrote on her Twitter: "Chris and Ben sit in there flat smoking weed every day. Ben has done this to be famous he has been planning it for months FACT!
"Mario's name has been tarnished because Towie producers didn't do there research...There is no proof! I have been approached by at least 10 people that were in that club & said Amy stalked Mario all night & he left with boys.
"Have u ever grassed on best mate? I'm guessing no? If he's a prick enough to grass he's a p***k enough to LIE to get famous! Think about it. (sic)"
Their tweets were later deleted.
A 'TOWIE' spokesman insisted nothing had been faked and said none of the cast are forced to say anything they don't want to.
He stated: "Producers maintain a constant dialogue with the cast throughout the series to find out what is happening in their lives and then put the cast in situations to allow these stories to play out."
