EastEnders' Alfie and Kat in custody battle
'EastEnders' favourites Kat and Alfie Moon will fight over their son Tommy as Alfie grows uneasy over his legal rights to see the tot as he's not the biological father.
EastEnders' Kat and Alfie Moon will fight over custody of their son Tommy.
With Alfie - played by Shane Richie - ready to divorce his estranged wife he sends her a letter through his solicitor next week, but he is left worried because he doesn't have any legal rights over the couple's child as he isn't the tot's biological father.
However, Albert Square battleaxe Kat (Jessie Wallace) is keen to keep things as friendly with Alfie as possible for the sake of Tommy and insists they work out their divorce between them without involving solicitors and is offended when Alfie feels the need to ask for a legal contact order to see Tommy regularly.
A show insider told Inside Soap magazine: "Separating from Alfie has, of course, been really hard for Kat but even so, she's determined to do what's best for everyone. The last thing she wants is for them to have a long, drawn-out fight over Tommy.
"She's shocked to discover that Alfie doesn't believe he has any say in Tommy's life, after everything they've been through as a family and she's hurt that he's expecting the worst of her despite her efforts to keep things amicable. It's a really difficult situation."
Tensions will rise between the pair in coming weeks as Alfie grows uneasy, and Tommy - whose father is his cousin Michael Moon - is left caught in the middle.
