Black Watch, the hit play from the National Theatre of Scotland, has been booked for an Australasian tour, following its successful first outing outside Scotland.
The award-winning production, which is currently showing at the UCLA Live international theatre festival in LA, is expected to strike a chord with New Zealand and Australia’s sizable Scottish population.
Written by Gregory Burke, the play focuses on the history of the Scottish regiment and its involvement in the Iraq war
Black Watch will form part of the line up at the NZ International Arts Festival, which runs from February 22 to March 9.
The play has opened in the States to rave reviews, receiving a standing ovation at its first night at LA’s Freud Theatre.
