Matt Lapinskas has vowed to "skate for Gareth Thomas" in the 'Dancing on Ice' final.
The 'EastEnders' star paid tribute to the former rugby player after the sportsman was booted off last night's (03.03.13) show after suffering from severe motion sickness, which meant he could not compete in the Skate-Off, and the actor says Gareth was like an "older brother" to him.
He said: "Gareth is a great guy, he's been like an older brother to me.
"I want to wish him all the best and we are going to skate for him and I will put my heart and soul in it and show him I love him to pieces."
Matt's fellow competitors, Olympian Beth Tweddle and boxer Luke Campbell - who all progressed to next weekend's grand final - also heaped praise on the former Welsh international.
Luke explained: "We have been working hard and we've put the time in on the ice and we'll carry on doing that. I am gutted at the way Gareth has gone out because as another sportsman, that's the last thing you want to do."
Speaking on the 'Dancing on Ice' results show, Beth added: "We have all worked really hard to be here and it is such a shame for Gareth to go out in this way.
"Obviously myself and Dan and everyone pass on our well wishes to him."
Following his exit from the competition last night, Gareth has taken to Twitter to thank his fans for their support and vowed to skate again.
He wrote: "Thanks for everyones amazing messages.Feeling better this morning.Had such an amazing time. Can't wait to skate again. As for flying.Never!;(x (sic)"
