The pair filmed their final scenes on the ITV soap yesterday (27.02.13) and Shobna - who has played Sunita Alahan for 12 years - took to Twitter to reveal it was one of the "saddest days" of her life stepping on the Weatherfield cobbles for the last time.
In a series of tweets, she wrote: "the saddest day my dearest friends who bring u the best entertainment and yet a tue feeling of freedom love #corrie cast and crew
"Can i just say @NatalieGumede rocks xxxxx she is an amazing lady
"I was yaying at all the tweet love for sunita tonight thanks so much feel the love xxxx (sic)"
Natalie - who portrays scheming stunner Kirsty Soames, who has been beating up hapless mechanic Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) for months - took to the social networking site to post a picture of Kirsty and Tyrone's home at No. 9 Coronation Street.
She wrote: "Last time outside no.9.... (sic)"
Alan revealed it was a "tough day" filming Natalie's exit from the soap, the details of which are being kept under wraps after 'Coronation Street' bosses filmed two endings to keep fans guessing.
He tweeted: "Such a tough day. Saying goodbye the the amazingly talented@NatalieGumede well only at the cobbles. Nearly finished my scene then beers xxx (sic)"
Catherine Tyldesley - who portrays blonde barmaid Eva Price - wrote: "I dont want @ShobnaGulati and @NatalieGumede to go :-( . The cobbles are totes emosh today :-( (sic)"
