Mary Berry to have own baking show
'Great British Bake Off' cook Mary Berry is set to have her own baking show, where she will teach viewers how to whip up delicious home cooked meals
Mary Berry has landed her own TV show.
The 77-year-old cook, who stars alongside silver fox Paul Hollywood in the award-winning 'Great British Bake Off', will front a new programme where viewers can learn how to whip up home cooked family meals.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Many families don't eat around the same table any more - so the idea of this show is to encourage that by showing people how to make decent home-cooked family meals.
"As it's Mary there will be plenty of baking tips, too."
Paul already has his own baking show 'Bread', where he shares his bread making knowledge, and 'Great British Bake Off' host Sue Perkins has written her own sitcom called 'Heading Out'.
The 43-year-old comedienne recently admitted she "forgot" to do research into her role as a veterinarian in the series and instead relied on a veterinary nurse to help talk her through the scenes.
She said: "I set the show in a vet's surgery because it's got to be somewhere, and you do get a big range of believable characters using vets - anyone can own a gerbil. But it was mooted that I do some research, and I sort of forgot about that bit.
"We did have a veterinary nurse in attendance when we filmed the opening scene where [her character] Sara puts a cat to sleep, though. She talked me through exactly how it's done."
