Emma Atkins: Charity will start World War III in Emmerdale
Emma Atkins thinks her 'Emmerdale' alter-ego Charity Tate will go ballistic when she finds out her husband Jai Sharma is the father of factory cleaner Rachel Breckle's baby.
Emma Atkins thinks her 'Emmerdale' character Charity Tate will start "World War III" on the show.
The 37-year-old star - who has portrayed the scheming blonde on the ITV soap for 13 years - believes her alter-ego will go ballistic when she eventually finds out her husband Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) is the father of factory cleaner Rachel Breckle's (Gemma Oaten) baby.
She said: "Charity's even gone to Rachel for advice about Jai's behaviour, thinking that - as the cleaner at the factory - she might have picked up on what's going on in his life.
"Charity will be really embarrassed about that, especially! Thinking about it, I reckon she'll go into shock first - and then World War III will break out!"
While Jai has been harbouring a big secret, Charity is to create one of her own when she sleeps with Jai's best friend Declan Macey (Jason Merrells) when his wife Katie Macey (Sammy Winward) is away from their Home Farm abode.
Emma added to Inside Soap magazine: "They both have dirty little secrets now, not just Jai.
"However, I don't believe this would cancel out in Charity's mind what Jai's done. A one-night stand is one thing - but a one-night stand which resulted in a baby is a whole different ball game! So I think Charity would decide she's totally innocent if she finds out what Jai's been up to. It's double standards."
