'Mr Selfridge' has been recomissioned for a second series.
Jeremy Piven is to reprise his titular role as US entrepreneur Harry Gordon Selfridge - who founded British department store Selfridges - in the ITV period drama, which will air for another 10 episodes in 2014 to coincide with the centenary of the First World War.
Steve November, Acting Director of Drama Commissioning at ITV, said: "I am delighted to be recommissioning 10 new episodes of Mr Selfridge from ITV Studios. It is ITV drama at its best and we are looking forward to spending more time with the wonderful characters."
A number of key cast members will return to the show, and Andrew Davies will be joined again by Kate Brooke and Kate O'Riordan as lead writers on the series.
Kate Lewis, Executive Producer for ITV Studios, said: "ITV Studios is thrilled to be making a second series of Mr Selfridge. The story of Harry Selfridge, his family and colleagues has drawn in a strong drama audience and we are delighted by the response. The second series will allow us to build on this success and it is a fantastic opportunity to focus on 1914 during the centenary of the Great War."
The second series will be set in 1914 in the run up the First World War, which will touch the lives of everyone in the store and see Harry turn to his family and friends to heal rifts of the past.
'Coronation Street' actress Michelle Keegan might be particularly delighted to hear another season of the period drama is in the works after recently revealing she is "perfectly qualified" to star in the show after working in the iconic shop in Manchester during her younger years.
She explained: "I would absolutely love a part in 'Mr Selfridge'. I'm qualified after all, and I know the history behind it all.
"When I first started working in Selfridges, we had a big talk about when and how it first opened and they talked about founder Mr. Selfridge as well."
'Mr Selfridge' continues on ITV on Sunday (10.02.13) at 9pm.
