Hayley Atwell begged her agent to land her a role in Charlie Brooker's 'Black Mirror' because she was "blown away" by the Channel 4 drama series last year

Hayley Atwell says filming 'Black Mirror' gave her chills.

The 'Restless' actress has revealed she begged her agent to land her a role in 'Be Right Back', the first instalment of Charlie Brooker's Channel 4 drama series, after reading the haunting script about a woman who connects with her deceased partner from beyond the grave using social media.

Speaking at the London Evening Standard British Film Awards at the London Film Museum on Monday night (04.02.13), Hayley told BANG Showbiz: "'Black Mirror' is something that I sought out after seeing the first series that Charlie Brooker did last year. I was so blown away by it that I called my agent and said, 'Please get me an audition for the second series!'

"It's one of the creepiest things I've ever seen and it gave me chills when I read the script. It was 12 days of hell doing it because it was so difficult and emotional, but the outcome is brilliant. I could not be any prouder."

The 30-year-old beauty also admitted to being a big James Bond fan and thinks Sam Mendes' 'Skyfall' - which picked up the Film of the Year title at the Chopard and Moet & Chandon-sponsored awards - deserves to be recognised on an international scale for its long-standing success.

She explained: "It's an institution and it's recognised within the film industry as a British institution and given the incredible worldwide success of other films, it has its place and it stands very firmly."
