Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy are back together and recorded a new album, 'Save Rock and Roll', in secret

Fall Out Boy are back together and releasing a new album.

The 'Dance, Dance' group - Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley - initially went their separate ways three years ago, but recorded new album 'Save Rock and Roll' in secret.

The band will release a new single, 'My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)' today (04.02.13) and play three intimate club shows this week in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.

The band said in a statement: "When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. It's why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place.

"This isn't a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.

"The future of Fall Out Boy starts now. Save Rock And Roll."

The band celebrated their comeback by burning records in Comiskey Park, Chicago, the site where in 1979 a 'Disco Demolition Night' took place, a promotional event where a crate of disco records was blown up during a baseball game.

Fall Out Boy's last studio album, 'Folie a Deux' was released in 2008.

'Save Rock and Roll' will be released on May 6 and 7.
