Maria Filippov is "frustrated" over Shayne Ward's exit from 'Dancing on Ice'.

The former 'X Factor' winner was voted off the ITV show on Sunday night (03.02.13) after losing in a Save Me Skate against 'EastEnders' actor Matt Lapinskas despite achieving his best score to date, and Maria is "really sad" her partner's journey came to an end so suddenly.

She explained: "I'm really sad because from the moment he started, he was really slow, it was really difficult - he was literally walking on the ice.

"And then you could see he blossomed every week. And I just got to the point where I watched him and he enjoyed his performance yesterday so much ... and it's just frustrating to see his wings were cut - he was just started to fly."

Shayne, 28, also admitted how "gutted" he was to have left the show, but credits his fellow contestant Matt for being such an "amazing" skater.

He continued: "I'm gutted ... but to be against Matt - I said to him just before the skate off, 'Just smash it, it's been an absolute pleasure'. Because I knew that Matt was going to be getting through - even with the stumble.

"He's an amazing skater. If I was a judge I would've put him through as well because he's that good a skater, so I knew, I was always knew I was going to come second to him."

Despite no longer being on the show, Shayne is keen to carry on the hobby and feels he has developed a new "skill" from taking part in the competition.

Speaking in a joint interview with Maria on ITV's 'This Morning', he added: "I'm going to carry on. I've loved it. I've been taught by the best and developed a skill, I can't wait to carry on.

"I didn't know what to expect - I did know that it'd be hard, because I'd never skated before, but I've loved the whole experience."
