Danny O'Donoghue: The Voice is better than X Factor
Danny O'Donoghue couldn't bear to watch more than 10 minutes of the last 'X Factor' series and insists 'The Voice' is "a better show" than its ITV rival
Danny O'Donoghue insists 'The Voice' is "a better show" than 'The X Factor'.
The Script singer - who is returning as a judge on the BBC One talent show alongside fellow panellists Sir Tom Jones, Jessie J and will.i.am - couldn't bear to watch the ITV programme last year because he believes it is inferior.
He said: "'The Voice' is the premier singing show in the UK.
"We've seen this season's 'X Factor' and I know we have a better show. I watched 10 minutes [of 'The X Factor'] and switched off.
"I'm more relaxed this time. The first time I thought I had lots to prove. We were treated unfairly by the press."
Danny is delighted his three fellow judges are all reprising their roles on 'The Voice' because he was "upset" when he heard speculation Jessie might not be back on the show.
He added to TellyMix: "I was a bit upset when I heard Jessie J might not return, because she's a huge talent and not shy of making a few headlines."
'The Voice' is due to go head to head with 'The X Factor' once again this year when the BBC One show airs its first live show on the same night as the final of 'Britain's Got Talent'.
A BBC spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that 'The Voice' series two live shows will start on June 8.
"We aren't aware of a date for the 'Britain's Got Talent' final."
