Claire Richards was "surprised" to see 5ive on 'The Big Reunion'.

The Steps singer was shocked to hear the boy band had reformed for the ITV2 reality show - which documents the comebacks of the group along with 911, B*Witched, Atomic Kitten, Liberty X and the Honeyz - and she is excited to see what happens on the eight-episode series.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "It's a very interesting concept and I'll be interested to see what happens over the episodes. I'm surprised that people like 5ive have got involved, I just didn't think they would.

"There's going to be a big show at the end of it so that will be good fun. It's going to be interesting and I'm excited about watching it."

The 35-year-old singer believes 'The Big Reunion' bosses were inspired to make the show after seeing the success of 'Steps Reunion' - a four-episode series in 2011 which documented the band's comeback - and the blonde star is "glad" the 'Tragedy' hitmakers were able to do their own show without other groups.

Claire - who is due to launch her own www.fashionworld.co.uk collection this year - added: "It's a good idea and I think it's the same people who made ours so they obviously saw something in what happened to us.

"I'm glad we did it on our own though and didn't have to go in with everybody else."

'The Big Reunion' continues on Thursday (07.02.13) on ITV2 at 9pm.

The Big Reunion Boy Band Tour

More 90s boybands than you can shake a stick at as the ITV2 show goes live with a line up culled from both series including Five, Blue, 911, A1, Damage, 3T and 5th Story (aka Gareth Gates, Dane Bowers, Adam Rickitt, Kavana and Kenzie).
