Harry Hill wanted TV Burp sketch show
Harry Hill wanted to turn 'TV Burp' into a sketch show but clashed with producers as they wanted to base it more around TV slips.
Harry Hill wanted to turn 'TV Burp' into a sketch show.
The 48-year-old comedian ended the ITV comedy programme - which saw him mock clips of the week's popular TV shows - last year and admits he and producers had different ideas of what direction they wanted it to go in.
He told this week's Big Issue magazine: "I was always trying to make it into a sketch show. I was trying to edge out the clips whereas the others were trying to get more clips."
Now the show has ended, Harry has gone back into the world of stand-up comedy with his show 'Sausage Time' but he admits he was scared about doing it beforehand because he had become used to doing 'TV Burp'.
He said: "What I have found on the warm-up shows is that sometimes it takes a while to win them over. But by the end they have got it. Which is quite satisfying."
Harry recently said he was happy 'TV Burp' ended when it did because he didn't want it to become "s**t".
He explained: "We'd kind of exhausted it. I think, in the end, we just about avoided it going a bit s**t."
