ITV is piloting its own 'Have I Got News for You'-style show which will tackle the week's showbiz stories and feature Jonathan Ross and Jason Manford as team captains

ITV is plotting a showbiz-themed 'Have I Got News for You'-style show.

The broadcaster is piloting a topical panel show entitled 'Oh What a Week', hosted by Jo Brand and featuring Jonathan Ross and Jason Manford as team captains, which is said to be in the same vein as the BBC show.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "The plan is for Jonathan and Jason to have a celebrity guest on each week and they will cast their eye over the week's showbusiness news. Like 'Have I Got News for You', it will look back at stories from the past week. But instead of being about things like politics and normal news, this will be showbiz-focused.

"The idea is that plenty of jokes will be made - and it won't matter which team wins."

ITV will film a pilot episode of the comedy panel show at its studios in London on Thursday (31.01.13), in the hope a full series will be commissioned for later this year.

Jo is currently a judge on ITV's Saturday night show, 'Splash!', while Jonathan moved to the channel to front a new talk show, 'The Jonathan Ross Show', in 2011, and is expected to host a new film programme later this year.

Meanwhile, Jason is a former team captain on Channel 4's similarly themed '8 Out of 10 Cats'.
