Rihanna and Bruno Mars scooped International Female and Male Artist of the Year at the NRJ Music Awards.
The 'Stay' hitmaker and 'Locked Out Of Heaven' singer took home the prestigious awards at the 13th ceremony in Cannes, France on Saturday (26.01.13).
Rihanna beat stiff competition from the likes of Adele, Nicki Minaj and Alicia Keys to win, while Bruno was chosen ahead of Flo Rida, Will.i.am and Pitbull.
'Call Me Maybe' hitmaker Carly Rae Jepsen picked up the International Revelation of the Year award, beating Birdy, Michael Telo and PSY.
However, the South Korean pop sensation didn't leave empty handed after his song 'Gangam Style' won both International Song of the Year and Clip of the Year, partly due to its iconic dance - which he performed during the event.
British heartthrobs One Direction beat Coldplay, Maroon 5 and Carly Rae Jepsen/Owl City to win Group/Duo of the year International and the five-piece also performed their new single 'Kiss You' during the ceremony.
Member Niall Horan tweeted after the event: "Cannes thank you for today! We had a lot of fun! French fans thanks a lot for the award! Gona sit lovely beside the TV (sic)"
Emeli Sande was one of the many musical guests who attended the ceremony, performing her songs 'Next To Me' and 'Read All About It'.
