Ben Price loves Corrie 'war'
Ben Price loves his 'Coronation Street' scenes with Chris Gascoyne, and says their characters, Nick Tilsley and Peter Barlow, have a "lovely little war"
'Coronation Street's Nick Tilsley and Peter Barlow have a "lovely little war".
The bistro businessman and bookie shop owner have been battling it out over Leanne Barlow (Jane Danson) ever since she cheated on then-fiance Peter with her ex-husband Nick in 2010 and while there is still tension between the men, actor Ben Price - who plays Nick - enjoys the confrontational scenes his co-star Chris Gascoyne.
Ben explained: "I think the roles are reversing with Peter and Nick now. It's a lovely little war to play out, and Chris is a great actor to go up against.
"Nick really hates Peter - and Peter can give as good as he gets. I think Nick will always see Peter as inferior to himself, but it's not necessarily going to stay like that forever ..."
Nick and Leanne recently tied the knot again after a rocky patch in their rekindled relationship - where Leanne turned to Peter before her Christmas Day (25.12.12) wedding, resulting in Nick sleeping with his sister-in-law Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) - and although things seem to be perfect in paradise, Ben is unsure of what will happen next.
He told Inside Soap magazine: "It's certainly very complicated! Leanne's got Peter in the background, then there's her war with Carla.
"Meanwhile, Nick has the secret with Kylie, and he used to be with Leanne's sister, Eva! But 'Corrie' is always fantastic with its families falling out, and everyone involved with everyone else.
"I can't wait to see what comes next in my scripts."
