Anthea Turner nursing rib injury
Anthea Turner has been left in agony after suffering a rib injury during 'Dancing on Ice' training, but is refusing to let it affect her practice.
Anthea Turner has "popped a rib" in 'Dancing on Ice' training.
The TV presenter has been left in agony and is concerned she won't be back to full health before this Sunday's (20.01.13) show but is determined not to miss any practice sessions with professional partner Andy Buchanan.
She tweeted: "Lying on my bed with hot-water bottle strapped to my ribcage. Felt it and heard 1 ping Y/day PAIN!!!! (sic)"
A source added: "Anthea popped a rib during her duel routine on Monday and has a hot water bottle on her ribs all day, but she hasn't missed any training - yet.
"She is really worried about it, as she is in a lot of pain, but she's a real trooper and is insisting that it will be all systems go for this weekend.
"Her attitude is that the show must go on, and she has told everyone she will be at training over the next few days, regardless of the rib injury."
Anthea has a pressing reason to get better as she will be skating for immunity from the public vote this weekend.
Each skating duo will go up against the couple who most closely matched their scores, with the judging panel saving one of the pairs, and Anthea and Andy will compete against Shayne Ward and Maria Filippov.
Previous high-scorers Matt Lapinskas and Brianne Delcourt, and Gareth Thomas and Robin Johnstone will compete against one another, while Beth Tweddle and Dan Whiston will face off against Oona King and Mark Hanretty.
Keith Chegwin and Olga Sharutenko are up against Joe Pasquale and Vicky Ogden, and Luke Campbell and Jenna Smith have been teamed with Samia Ghadie and Sylvain Longchambon.
