Jessie Ware is "flattered" by her Best Female Solo Artist BRIT Awards nomination.
The 'Wildest Moments' singer is up for the gong as well as British Breakthrough Act and is overwhelmed to be nominated after such a short time in the music business.
She told The Sun newspaper: "I'm only one year old in music, so it's flattering that they put me up for Best Female."
She added to ITN: "Credit to my label, because they let me make some really rubbish demos and work out that I didn't like that, then I've had a lot of fun and worked with some amazing people that are now friends.
"I've wanted to treat it quite romantically, this feeling of putting an album out. I also feel like I've been allowed to do what I wanted and had the time to do it."
The first award of the event - the biggest date in the British music calendar, which will take place at London's The O2 venue on February 20 - was given as the nominees were announced last night (10.01.13), with Tom Odell named Critic's Choice.
He is hoping the win will help his sales, as he has some damage to pay for from partying over New Year.
He said: "I was dancing on top of an antique glass table at a friend's house and it cracked. I've got to pay for it."
Emeli Sande leads nominations with four, Mumford & Sons and Alt-J have three nominations each and Rita Ora, Muse, Plan B, Jessie Ware, Ben Howard, Coldplay, Paloma Faith and Olly Murs are all up for two awards.
