Davina McCall doesn't miss Big Brother
Despite fronting 'Big Brother' for 11 years on Channel 4, Davina McCall insists she "hasn't missed" the reality show.
Davina McCall doesn't miss 'Big Brother'.
The TV presenter fronted the reality show during the height of its success for 11 years on Channel 4 before relinquishing her hosting duties when the show moved to Channel 5 in 2011, and revealed she isn't missing the programme because the commitment required was taxing on her family life.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, she explained: "I haven't missed it. It is such a commitment, 'Big Brother'.
"To get the most out of it, you have to watch it at least four nights a week. I never missed an episode, not one single episode. You have to get that involved to get the most out of it. I can't commit that time anymore. I did it for 11 years and lost my summer because of it. I'm just now away and enjoying summers with the kids."
However, the 45-year-old 'Got to Dance' presenter does keep up with the show and praised her replacement, former housemate Brian Dowling, 34, who is fronting the latest series of 'Celebrity Big Brother' on Thursday (03.01.13).
She said: "I have watched it. I watched 'Celebrity [Big Brother]' with Julian [Clary], because he's a good friend of mine. I love Brian [Dowling]. He is my all-time favourite housemate and I think he's doing a really good job. I think he's got even better over [time]."
Asked whether she offered Brian any tips, she responded: "He doesn't need tips. He knows I love him and he knows I think he's doing alright as I've said so on Twitter and everything. Boy's done good."
'Got to Dance' series four starts on January 6 on Sky1.
