Strictly Come Dancing star Len Goodman marries
'Strictly Come Dancing' head judge Len Goodman has tied the knot for the third time in a surprise ceremony after inviting friends and family to Sunday lunch
Len Goodman has married for the third time.
The 68-year-old 'Strictly Come Dancing' head judge tied the knot with dance teacher, Sue Barrett, 47, in a surprise wedding ceremony yesterday (30.12.12), according to The Sun newspaper.
Len invited 30 guests - including 'Strictly' professional Anton Du Beke - for Sunday lunch at the exclusive Mossiman club in Belgravia, London, but shocked his guests when a wedding registrar appeared to oversee the vows between him and Sue.
While he left most of his friends and family out of the loop, Len joked he had to tell his elderly mother the news beforehand, fearing she may have a heart attack.
Speaking after the ceremony, he quipped: "We've had a marvellous day. I wanted it to be a low-key affair, so we didn't tell anyone except my 96-year-old mum as I didn't want her having a heart attack!"
The ballroom star - who was previously married to Cherry Kingston and has a son, James, with second wife Lesley - met Sue at a golf course, and later offered her a job managing his dance school, The Goodman Dance Centre, in Dartford, Kent.
Following the ceremony, the couple shared their first dance, which Len described as "a spot of dance-teacher dancing".
