Phillip Schofield would love royal ice partner
Phillip Schofield says the Duchess of Cambridge would be his dream 'Dancing on Ice' partner, and he thinks she would be a natural on the ice
Phillip Schofield's dream 'Dancing on Ice' partner would be the Duchess of Cambridge.
The host would love to see Duchess Catherine - the wife of Prince William - take to the ice with him, as he believes she would be a natural.
He told The Sun newspaper: "If I was a contestant on the show, the Duchess of Cambridge would be my perfect partner because I suspect she's very light on her feet.
"You can't underestimate how difficult 'Dancing On Ice' is for the contestants. It is a gruelling schedule then there is the ever-present possibility you'll smash your teeth in.
"Of all the reality shows, this is the toughest."
The show returns for a eighth series on January 6, and the full line up of contestants was unveiled earlier this month, featuring ex-Labour MP Oona King, rugby star Gareth Thomas, Olympians Beth Tweddle and Luke Campbell, former reality TV star Lauren Goodger, comedian Joe Pasquale, TV hosts Keith Chegwin and Anthea Turner, ex-soap stars Matt Lapinskas and Samia Ghadie, model and TV star Pamela Anderson and 'The X Factor' 2005 winner Shayne Ward.
Matt said he's looking forward to having a little verbal sparring with the judges, promising: "I will answer back. I am not afraid. I am prepared for the highs and lows - you can work really hard and the judges can kill you for it."
This year's panel will see the return of notoriously hard-nosed judge Jason Gardiner, who will sit with Robin Cousins and a new female judge, who will replace Katarina Witt.
