Ryan Moloney signs up for Celebrity Big Brother
'Neighbours' star Ryan Moloney is set to appear in the new series of 'Celebrity Big Brother' along with a host of other soap stars, including former 'Coronation Street' actor Sam Robertson
'Neighbours' actor Ryan Moloney has signed up for 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
The 33-year-old actor, who plays the loveable Toadfish in the Australian show, is set to appear in the Channel 5 programme's infamous house next year along with several other soap stars.
Sam Robertson, who played Coronation Street's Adam Barlow, Tricia Penrose - Heartbeat's former barmaid Gina Ward - and former 'EastEnders' actress Gillian Taylforth are also onboard for the next season.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Whatever way you look at it, soap operas are really successful. Having so many stars from those shows can only be a boost for the 'Big Brother' house."
Emma Willis, who hosts spin-off show 'Big Brother's Bit On The Side', insists the housemates' personalities and quirks will make the show exciting rather than their celebrity status.
She said: "You're not going to get A-listers on board because they don't need to do it. People like your Nadine Coyle and Lindsay Lohan, they are so media trained you're never going to get anything from them.
"Nadine Coyle, realistically, what are we going to get from her as a housemate? She may be really famous but we need content."
Last week, it was revealed comedian Jim Davidson has joined the line-up despite previously having an argument with the show's host Brian Dowling, in which he called him a "shirt lifter" and a "f***ing disgrace", when they were both contestants on ITV's 'Hell's Kitchen' in 2007.
Other rumoured housemates include jockey Frankie Dettori and 'X Factor' contestant Rylan Clark.
'Celebrity Big Brother' returns to Channel 5 on January 3.
