'Doctor Who' star Matt Smtih says giving his character a new pairing is like an "arranged marriage",w here chemistry will eventually develop.
Matt Smith says his 'Doctor Who' pairing with Jenna-Louise Coleman is like an "arranged marriage".
The actor thinks it will take time for his titular Time Lord character to build chemistry with his new companion Clara.
He explained: "I liken it to an arranged marriage, not that I know what one of those is like. It is like, 'You are married, have chemistry'."
However, Jenna thinks the partnership is more like a "blind date", but with the pair out to save the world.
She said: "It's like putting two people together. 'Oh I know someone you'll really get on with - now go on and save the world'."
And the pair hinted at romantic involvement for their characters.
Jenna said: " I think there is definitely a romantic tone."
Speaking at a special screening of festive episode 'Doctor Who - The Snowmen', Matt added: "It can change every week, that's the beauty of it. One week it's a love story, one week it's an action adventure."
The festive episode - which is set on Christmas Eve in 1892 - airs on Christmas Day (25.12.12) at 5.15pm.
