British bands the Arctic Monkeys, Muse and the Kaiser Chiefs have each been nominated for three awards at Q Magazine’s awards ceremony next month.

The award for best album will be battled out by the Arctic Monkeys, Amy Winehouse, Kaiser Chiefs, Arcade Fire and the Manic Street Preachers.

The Klaxons didn’t features on the shortlist meanwhile, after pipping favourite Amy Winehouse to the £20,000 Mercury Music Prize last week for their debut album Myths of the Near Future.

Also up for three awards is US band the Killers, who compete with the Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Foo Fighters and U2 for the title of best act in the world today.

The winners, who are voted for by the magazine’s readers, will be named on October 8.
