Conor Oberst with band Desaparecidos

Fan campaign via Songkick Detour to bring Oberst's old band to UK

Good news for Conor Oberst fans. The Nebraskan singer-songwriter just announced a small handful of UK dates for February next year, including a stop-off at the Arches in Glasgow. Desaparecidos is a rock band featuring the man known better to many as Bright Eyes, aka Conor Oberst, plus bandmates Landon Hedges, Matt Baum, Denver Dalley and Ian McElroy. They formed in 2001, released one album (2002's Read Music/Speak Spanish), then split up not long after.

Desaparecidos released their first new material in a decade in August this year, a double a-side single, 'MariKKKopa/Backsell'.

The gig was made possible after fans responded to a call for pledges set up by Songkick Detour, who invited fans to help campaign and raise funds for their favourite band to play. You can find out the full story over at Songkick.
