Romance for Doctor Who in Christmas special
Doctor Who's titular Time Lord will share a kiss with his sexy new sidekick in the BBC One show's festive special episode.
Doctor Who's titular Time Lord will get a kiss this Christmas.
The Doctor - played by Matt Smith - shares a sneaky smooch with his new sidekick Clara Oswin (Jenna-Louise Coleman) as they take on a mysterious icy menace causing chaos in Victorian England in 'Doctor Who - The Snowmen'.
Matt joked to The Sun newspaper: "I liked our kiss, it was fun. Even though it was hell to do."
Filming the snog was far from romantic, however, and Jenna-Louise added: "We did a couple of versions. One was like a swoop - maybe it will be in some outtakes or something."
The Christmas special episode is set in 1892 and sees the Time Lord thwarted by a gang of evil talking snowmen, who are all voiced by 'The Hobbit' actor Sir Ian McKellen.
The sci-fi show's festive episode also stars Richard E. Grant in the role of Victorian misanthrope Dr. Simeon.
Fans will be treated to a revamped "wonderfully dramatic and striking" opening title sequence and a new interior design for the Doctor's time-travelling vessel, the TARDIS.
The BBC revealed: "We can't give too much away about the new-look titles except to say they are wonderfully dramatic and striking, with a couple of unexpected touches. In short, they're a perfect way to welcome back the Doctor!"
'Doctor Who - The Snowmen' airs on BBC One on Christmas Day (25.12.12) at 5:15pm.
