Jane Danson is nothing like Leanne Barlow
Jane Danson is happy her life isn't as complicated as her 'Coronation Street' alter-ego Leanne Barlow and will be enjoying a relaxing Christmas, unlike the bookmaker.
Jane Danson is happy her life isn't as complicated as her 'Coronation Street' alter-ego Leanne Barlow.
The actress admits the bookmaker has had a very eventful 2012 - which ends with her set to marry Nick Tilsley when ex-husband Peter Barlow returns to Weatherfield with girlfriend Carla Connor - and she is glad she has a much quieter existence.
She said: "Leanne's life is so exhausting! She can't do anything without drama - my own Christmas is going to be an absolute doddle compared to hers, I think. I'll be at home, with all my family coming round. I've been so busy over the last few months, so it'll be nice to just chill out with my kids."
Jane also think that Leanne isn't truly happy with Nick as Peter is the real love of her life and he's the one she really wants.
She told Inside Soap magazine: "Leanne does love Nick, otherwise she wouldn't be marrying him. He's never going to be dangerous enough for her, though - that's what excites her about Peter. Nick is always going to be the 'safe' option. If Leanne were to ever lay her cards on the table, I think she'd say that Peter is the love of her life, not Nick. Leanne does know that Peter is bad for her - he's like a drug she can't give up."
