Simon Cowell is keen for Rihanna to become a judge on either the UK or US version of 'The X Factor' and he plans to hold talks with her over Christmas about a position on one of the talent shows

Simon Cowell will hold talks with Rihanna over Christmas about becoming a judge on 'The X Factor'.

The music mogul is keen to add the 24-year-old star to the panel of either the UK or US version of the talent show, and he plans to meet the brunette beauty in Barbados, where she was born, when he spends time on the island over the festive period.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Simon is a huge admirer of Rihanna and knows she's star quality. As well as bringing an aura to the panel thanks to her current standing in music, she is also feisty and will make great TV. Simon loves these sort of characters."

Simon - who quit 'The X Factor' judging panel to concentrate on setting up the US version of the show last year - also wants Rihanna's on/off boyfriend Chris Brown, who was arrested for violently assaulting the Bajan beauty in 2009, to replace outgoing judge L.A. Reid on 'The X Factor' USA.

The source added: "The US 'X Factor' has improved on the first season's ratings but it's got some way to go to reach Simon's expectations. Adding Chris to the panel will certainly create a talking point."

Simon is thought to be keen on retaining the services of Nicole Scherzinger on the UK 'X Factor', while Tulisa and Louis Walsh both recently revealed they would like to return to the panel next year.

Rihanna is 40/1 with Paddy Power to be a judge on the UK 'X Factor' next year, while offer odds of 1/2 for either Tulisa or Nicole to remain on the panel, while Gary Barlow is 4/6 and Louis is 1/3.

Sassy pop and R&B packed with attitude from the multi-award-winning Barbadian singer actress, who has topped the UK charts again and again with hits including 'Umbrella', 'Only Girl (In The World)', 'We Found Love' and 'Diamonds.'
