Ashley Taylor Dawson admits he would be disappointed if his 'Hollyoaks' alter-ego Darren Osborne broke up with Nancy, and he is hopeful of an "exciting" future for the couple
Ashley Taylor Dawson is hopeful of an "exciting" future for Hollyoaks' Darren and Nancy Osborne.
The 30-year-old actor would be disappointed if his bad boy alter-ego in the Channel 4 soap split up with the mother-of-one (Jessica Fox) as the pair have gone through "so much" when she suffered a miscarriage and then earlier this year their baby son Oscar was born premature.
When asked if he would feel sad if the couple parted, Ashley exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Yeah definitely, especially after what they've been through. They've been through a lot and they've got a baby now so it's the start of a family and an exciting time for any couple."
The couple have been sat by the little one's beside in the baby unit he's been at since being born, and Ashley and Jessica believe it would be one of the best ever Christmas presents for Darren and Nancy if they are allowed to take Oscar home for the festive period.
Jessica added: "We are hoping to have Oscar home for Christmas. Hopefully he will be home and healthy but we'll have to wait and see."
Ashley is glad Darren is closer to Nancy after previously blaming her for giving birth to Oscar prematurely.
He explained: "We've already had a miscarriage and Darren has felt very strongly that Nancy needs to take it easy because she's running around everywhere and stressing herself out. So when we had the premature baby he couldn't get it out of his mind that it was because of Nancy that this has happened and he blamed her. Because of that he lost respect for her and he didn't know how to deal with it.
"He thought he would never be able to love her again because of what she's done."
