Horse Meat Disco, Melting Pot, Subculture and more celebrate the New Year
There’s so much on offer this New Year’s Eve but you can’t go wrong with Horse Meat Disco (Berkeley Suite) as the London disco outfit return alongside Billy Woods. There’s more disco from Andrew and Simon at Melting Pot (Admiral Bar) with guests 6th Borough Project and Divine! upstairs, but if you want quality house head to the Subculture Hogmanay (Sub Club) as Harri, Domenic and friends round off the Subbie’s 25th year in style. If techno is more your thing Detroit’s Terrance Parker headlines La Cheetah Presents NYE.
If you want to big up the Scottish talent Deadly Rhythm & I Hate Fun NYE (Chambre 69) are joined by high-quality locals, including S-Type, Mark Maxwell, Mermaids and Codeine Drums; reggae, dancehall and dubstep is on offer from Mungo’s Hi Fi, Chungo-Bungo and Soom T at Hogmanay 2013: The Warehouse Party (SWG3); both sets of residents alongside live guests Den Haan play Wrong Island vs Wild Combination (Nice‘n’Sleazy) while Twitch and Wilkes return (with special guest Auntie Flo) for the Optimo Hogmanay (Glue Factory).
For something a bit different check out the highly popular burlesque shenanigans at Club Noir’s Hogmanay (Classic Grand) or 90s indie at the Common People Hogmanay Party (Flying Duck) with live guests Bis. However the prize for best value Hogmanay goes to Pi-Eyed New Year’s Eve Meltdown (Audio) as Demon Cabbage, Taz Buckfaster, Dave Shades, NoFace and more rave it up at this free party.
