Doctor Who to return in April
The last eight episodes of sci-fi series 'Doctor Who' will air on BBC One next Spring.
'Doctor Who' will return in April 2013.
The final eight episodes of the sci-fi show's seventh series are scheduled to air on BBC One next spring and the hotly-anticipated arc will formeallly introduce the Time Lord's new companion Clara, played by Jenna Louise Coleman.
The series ended in October on dramatic cliff-hanger which saw Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) leave the show forever in explosive farewell episode 'The Angels Take Manhattan: Doctor Who'.
The popular show's Christmas special will see the Doctor encounter charming Clara for the first time, and Matt Smith recently hinted love could be in the air for his alter ego.
He said: "What's interesting with a new companion is that it changes the way he is and affects his personality. I think, in one way or another, the Doctor is always attracted to his companion and he's certainly taken by this striking young lady."
Matt has also expressed his desire to stay on as the mischievous Doctor for as long as possible, confessing his mother would be "aghast" if he quit.
He told The List: "I take each year as it comes. All good things come to an end, but my mum is aghast at the thought of me ever not being the Doctor... I've no immediate plans to leave. I'm around for a whole year and that's a long time."
