Francis Boulle didn't expect Made in Chelsea success
Francis Boulle is still surprised 'Made in Chelsea' has become such a success because he believes some people think it is "trendy" to "hate" successful people.
Francis Boulle never expected 'Made in Chelsea' to be a success.
The 24-year-old star initially couldn't see how the London-based E4 reality show would ever do well because there is so much "inverted snobbery" in Britain and he believes some people think it is "trendy" to "hate" successful people.
He said: "I wasn't prepared for Made in Chelsea's success over here. I didn't really expect it to be so successful over here because I think there was a lot of inverted snobbery and there still is in British culture. It's almost trendy to hate and attack people who are successful, but maybe they are just simply working hard."
Francis is delighted 'Made in Chelsea' is now being screened in the US in the year of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee because he believes the show is a great advert for Britain.
He added: "It's a brilliant time to be British - we've had a great PR campaign this year with the Diamond Jubilee. It's perfect time for the show to go to America."
