Nicky Byrne voted off 'Strictly Come Dancing'
Former Westlife star Nicky Byrne has become the latest contestant to be voted off 'Strictly Come Dancing' after the judges unanimously opted to save Denise Van Outen following her dance-off
Nicky Byrne has become the ninth celebrity to leave 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The former Westlife star and his professional partner Karen Hauer were unanimously voted off the BBC reality series tonight (09.12.12) after the judges opted to save his rival Denise Van Outen and her partner James Jordan after they landed in the bottom two and competed in a dance-off.
The 34-year-old father-of-two's exit came after he found himself in the bottom two for a second consecutive week, after failing to impress with his fusion dance to Olly Mur's hit 'Troublemaker'.
Upon hearing the result, Nicky paid tribute to the show and his partner: "It has been just so much fun. It is the biggest and best show in the world. To come out every Saturday night is hard but it's playing a different character, doing a different dance - it's just been amazing.
"Karen, every week, every day has been incredible. We had a bit of a shaky start in terms of judges and stuff, but we just seemed to improve.
"I have to say thank you to the judges - you have been absolutely amazing with all your advice, all the people backstage - even the people that get you your coffee - I am going to miss the whole thing it's been an amazing experience."
Denise now faces stiff competition in next week's semi-final from Olympian Louis Smith, actress Dani Harmer and Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh who bagged a perfect score of four 10s from the judges, the highest score of the series so far.
Tonight's results show also included a performance from Michael Buble, who performed his festive rendition of 'It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas'.
