Chris Bisson's sneaky Emmerdale ad-lib
Chris Bisson revealed the score of an England football match while filming the 'Emmerdale' live episode to prove it was real after a number of people had tweeted him saying they thought it would be pre-recorded
Chris Bisson "threw in an ad-lib" in the 'Emmerdale' live episode to prove it was authentic.
The 37-year-old actor - who plays businessman Jai Sharma in the ITV1 soap - didn't tell producers he was going to reveal the scoreline from England's match with Poland during the show to prove to viewers that it wasn't pre-recorded, but he was relieved when he didn't get into trouble afterwards.
He said: "There was lots of banter on Twitter beforehand, and some people didn't believe it was going to be live, so I threw in a little ad-lib to prove it was.
"Before we went on air, England played against Poland in the football, so I mentioned the score during a conversation Jai was having at Declan and Katie's wedding reception.
"Luckily I didn't get into trouble, as everyone was so elated we'd not messed up!"
Chris would love his good friend Jimi Mistry - who previously starred in BBC One soap 'EastEnders' - to join 'Emmerdale' and thinks he would be ideal as Jai's "evil" cousin.
When asked who he would love to cast in 'Emmerdale', he told Inside Soap magazine: "Jimi Mistry - he was my co-star in movie 'East is East', and he's a really good friend.
"He also used to play Dr. Fonseca in 'EastEnders'. He'd have to be someone who was related to Jai in some way - maybe an evil cousin?
"Jimi's actually filming here in Leeds just now, which has been great."
